Dust Bowl

It’s hard to describe the transformation of the dirt, or what ever it is here. It dries as a hard clay. Now that it hasn’t rained in a bit, and the cold dry air blows, as you walk and drive on it, it turns into a fine dust. Your eyes burn. If a vehicle drives by there’s a dust cloud. It does make for beautiful sun rises and sun sets.

Today is Sunday. I had the day off, though I was on emergency call. The emergency that was supposed to fly in never made it. I went in to  the clinic in the morning to set up and do some computer work. I did 65 minutes on the bike at the gym. I walked to the PX with a friend around noon. I needed a pair of flip flops to walk to the bathroom and shower.

There was an attack today on another part of the base. Thankfully no injuries reported.

Enjoy your Holidays. MAJ B

  1. Me says:

It’s Christmas Eve and we will celebrate Anita’s birthday tonight. Just so you know WE got her a really nice sweater. It was on her list. She told me you called her. That was sweet.

Is that flip flop comment a hint? We could have put them in the little package with the cookies. With about 30 days to go let me know if we have time to ship them. I am sure I can find a pair YOUR dog has not chewed up.

    Day off? What’s that?????
